The Race – Don’t think, Just Paint. I heard this mantra many times over the years as I studied art. However, The Race was a breakthrough work that opened up the endless possibilities of abstraction all while bringing the viewer images. Wanting the viewer to stop and engage it is important for the artist to draw the viewer in for a closer look and making a deep connection with the possible images within the work.
NOTE: the artist was so captured by the imagery that the work is double strung so it can be hung two different ways giving prominence to two completely different perspectives
